    Volunteer Abroad in Rural France. This is an opportunity for anyone who wants a break with a difference! Make new friends, keep fit, learn about French culture and cuisine, art and history, whilst renovating a cottage and garden.

    Richard is looking for volunteers to come to France to help renovate a 15th century complex that is an arts residency and its garden in a medieval village in the heart of the Auvergne. Comfortable guest rooms are available, and hot evening meals will be supplied in return for a very basic contribution toward costs.

    We will be working amongst the most beautiful landscape, within a Medieval village, surrounded by a Gorge, Benedictine Abbey, Forests, Volcanoes and castles!

  • Arthouse Chantelle's Mission Statement

    Arthouse is a small gallery, studio, workshop, arts residency and home in the rural town of Chantelle in central france. Housed in a 15th century building, it sits on the edge of a beautiful wooded river gorge. Local architecture is largely medieval with the Abbey of St Vincent nearby in the town and dominating the Gorge. Typically, work involves basic skills - gardening, walling, painting etc. but craftsmen are valued as well!
