Work with advisors at the Arcadia University Center for Education Abroad to create an incomparable study abroad experience that fits with your interests. These short-term, intensive programs run for three weeks and award three semester hours of credit each at either the undergraduate or graduate level. If you are interested in extending your stay, it is possible to start with British Literature 1900-45 and stay on to take either Creative Writing or British Literature 1945-Present.
The literature courses provide an opportunity to hear leading novelists, poets, literary critics, and historians discuss the social, historical and theoretical influences that have impacted modern British literature. Prominent speakers in thepast have included David Daiches, Cairns Craig, Arthur Marwick, Terry Eagleton, Toril Moi, Christopher Harvie, Samuel Hynes, Bernard Crick, Catherine Belsey, Philip Hobsbaum, Randall Stevenson, and Brian McHale. The SUISS encourages you to freely interact with these distinguished scholars and personalities, sharing your ideas and observations with them and other visiting students. The program is operated by Scottish Universities' International Summer School (SUISS) and is based at the University of Edinburgh.
