    Take your study abroad experience to a level it deserves to be at with help from the College of Global Studies at Arcadia University. You'll be set up with an incomparable study abroad experience at the Burren College of Art in the beautiful country of Ireland. This remarkable institution offers painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture amid the magnificent landscape of the Burren, an area that has long been an inspiration for artists of all genres because of its ethereal and intriguing beauty.

    Courses may be selected among various departments. You will earn the following hours of credit.

    * Fall and spring semester: 15 credits.
    * Academic year: 30 credits.

    Admission Requirements

    GPA Requirements: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

    You must be in good academic standing and not on disciplinary probation. You need to submit a complete application including a transcript, letter of recommendation, and an advisor's form before your application will be considered.

    To apply, you will need to submit a non-returnable portfolio of 12-15 color slides or a CD of recent work.

    An Arcadia program isn't just about enrolling you in an overseas institution, however. It's about all of the services that we provide. We encourage you to contact your program manager for advice on the application process, choosing courses, or simply what you should pack. Once you arrive in Ireland, our resident director will lead an orientation program in Dublin that will introduce you to the culture, history and politics of Ireland. During the semester, you can expect to participate in excursions that are designed to allow you to reflect on the learning that is taking place outside the classroom and help you find ways to make the most of your time abroad.

    The Burren College of Art is equipped with some of the finest studios and facilities in Ireland. Top-quality tools and study materials are available to every student. You'll receive personal studio space and one-on-one guidance by faculty and visiting artists who are noted for their outstanding achievement in contemporary art and scholarship. Additionally, you'll benefit from faculty-led excursions to the galleries of Dublin and other European cities.
