  • Description

Learning Spanish abroad in Granada, Nicaragua is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Nicaragua is a country of beauty and charm, vibrant colonial culture, tall volcanoes and beautiful beaches. The largest republic in Central America, Nicaragua is located at the juncture of three tectonic plates. This makes the natural phenomenon as exciting and dramatic as man-made events. The capital city of Managua that has been partially decimated by earthquakes three times and once by a major fire. From the cultural and artisan center of Masaya just outside the capital city to the up and coming -hang out- of Granada, Nicaragua's spirit and national pride shines in every corner of this country.

    Learn Spanish Language in Nicaragua:
Located on the northwest shore of Lake Nicaragua, Granada is the oldest continuously inhabited city in continental Latin America. It was founded in 1524 by Hernandez de Cordoba, and is a great base for travel to the Pacific coast and the capital. This quaint, colonial town stands in the shadow of the Volcano Mombacho. Its inhabitants refer to Granada as "La Gran Sultana" (The Grand Sultan). The heart of the town is located at the Parque Central, where one can visit the many food stalls, civic buildings, the Cathedral and other attractions.

    Spanish School Facilities:
The main office and classrooms are located on Calle La Calzada a short distance from the Parque Central. Calle La Calzada is one of the oldest streets in the city - generally regarded as very beautiful - the street goes from the park to the waterfront of Lake Cocibolca (Lake Nicaragua), the biggest lake in the country. Moreover, Calle La Calzada is an up and coming shopping area and has a variety of restaurants, shops and hotels. Capacity is 60 students per day.
