Learning Arabic abroad in Buraimi, Oman is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. The Sultanate of Oman, a land of natural beauty, friendly people and dramatic landscapes, is located on the southeast corner of the Arabian Peninsula in southwest Asia. Oman borders the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Yemen while the coast is formed by the Arabian Sea on the south and east, and the Gulf of Oman on the northeast. Slightly smaller than Kansas in size, with a population of 2.6 million, Oman remains one of the most traditional countries in the region, yet it has seen rapid economic and social development in the past three decades, comparable to that of a 'Renaissance.' The economy is largely dependent on the production and export of oil and natural gas, but is becoming increasingly more diversified. Excellent tourist facilities are available in the major cities of Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, and Nizwa.
Learn Arabic Language in Oman:
Al Buraimi is an oasis town in northeastern Oman, on the border of the United Arab Emirates near Al Ain. It is the newest governorate of Oman, which was split from the Ad Dhahirah region in October of 2006. This residential town of about 50,000 people is known for friendly natives and a rich history with settlements dating back to the 4th Century BC.
Situated close to the foothills of the Western Hajar Mountains, a drive throughout the city will encounter fascinating themed sculptures, statues, gardens, fountains and forts. Visitors can also hop across the border without the need for a visa and visit Al Ain, Al Buraimi's sister city. Once in Al Ain, one can visit the shops, enjoy the golden sand dunes, explore the desert with 'desert safaris' and camel trips, and also be situated near excellent beaches. Visitors to the region will surely experience an atmosphere and culture that feels more traditionally Arabic than in other Arabic-speaking countries around the world.
Arabic School Facilities:
The school is located in a large, beautiful, converted two-story house, typical of the area. The air-conditioned school building is not far from the hotel where participants stay and from local shops. There is a kitchen with a refrigerator and microwave which is used as a break room. Capacity is about 72 students/day.

Independently
Our mantra is "Every Language, Every Culture, Everywhere." AmeriSpan Study Abroad has over 15 years experience and over 30,000 past participants. Our staff has three passions: language, culture, and travel. Individually and as a group, we have accumulated experiences and knowledge related to these passions. AmeriSpan's staff has traveled to more than 65 countries, every continent except Antarctica, speak 10 languages, and we are happy to share this enormous amount of relevant knowledge with you. Every staff member has studied and/or lived abroad for extended periods of time. We are neither a language school nor a travel agent, we're a hybrid of the two: a language travel organization. AmeriSpan has evaluated hundreds of schools, host families and destinations to determine which programs to offer, and our independence allows us to give you unbiased evaluations of these programs. Our pledge to our participants is to make going abroad 'worry-free'. There is no risk in choosing an AmeriSpan program because you'll get the best program, best price and can cancel for any reason and get a full refund on every dollar we have received for your program.
