  • Description

Located on the Ryo Plata, Montevideo (population 1.9 million) seems more like a large town than a city. The people of this modern and lively city are almost all of European descent (as is the case in Buenos Aires and Santiago). Nine sandy beaches stretch along Montevideo's waterfront and one is located only 3 blocks from the school. The most popular beach resort is Punta del Este, a narrow peninsula between the Rio Plata and Atlantic Ocean.

School Facilities: The school is situated in Parque Rodo, a quiet and friendly residential neighborhood where you can find the National Library, restaurants, shops, the University of Architecture and a beautiful, big park. The school itself is a charming old house that also serves as a residence for program participants. There is a reception area and office, four large classrooms, a library, fully-equipped kitchen, living room with television, a terrace and yard. The student residence is located on the first floor. From the school it is only a short walk to the Centre, Pocitos and the beach. Capacity is about 30 students/day.

Participants: Most are European, and the rest from North America. Many are university students, professionals and indepentent travelers of all ages.

  • Highlights

The smallest Hispanic country in South America, Uruguay is bordered to the north by Brazil, to the west by Argentina, to the south by the Ryo Plata and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean. Many believe the country's wide sandy beaches are the best in the world, to which the invasion of beach- loving Argentineans can attest. Safety, health standards and political stability are among the best in Latin America.

Our staff has three passions: language, culture, and travel. Individually and as a group, we have accumulated experiences and knowledge related to these passions. Every staff member has studied and/or lived abroad for extended periods of time. We are neither a language school nor a travel agent, we're a hybrid of the two: a language travel organization.
