With a population of around 100,000 and average temperatures of 74-80 degrees, Alajuela offers the language traveler the relaxed environment of a small city and easy access to San Josy (15 miles east of Alajuela).
Located on top of a small hill with a view of distant fields, the school is surrounded by flowers and fruit trees and is only a short bus ride outside of Alajuela. Homestays can be arranged in the city or within walking distance of the school.
This popular program integrates audio, video and dynamic exercises into a highly conversational teaching method. Besides the regular language program for beginning to advanced levels, a complete superior level program is available.

Known as the Switzerland of Central America, Costa Rica has an abundance of natural beauty and is populated by a friendly, well-educated people. Costa Rica has obtained the highest standard of living in Central America by embracing democracy and disbanding its army. This small country is a paradise for nature lovers with many national parks, jungles, volcanoes, beaches and more rivers and water per square mile than any other country in the world, excluding New Zealand. However, the small pre-Colombian Indigenous population was wiped out by diseases brought to the new world by the conquistadors.
