  • Description

From its lavish beach to hidden local treasures, Barcelona sprawls from the sunny Mediterranean Sea up to the hills. People from all over the world enjoy the constant buzz of excitement, its professional character and its architectural and artistic prowess, seen in examples like Gaudi's Sagrada Familia, and both Roman and Gothic architecture.

UAB has 4 campuses with over 43,000 local and international students (1,100 study aboad). Study abroad students will take classes at two central campuses, Sant Pau and Sarria. Campus Sant Pau is in one of Catalonia's Modernist buildings within the 'Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau'. The neighborhood is both centrally located yet quiet, which makes it ideal for university students. The Sarria campus is in a commercial district in the northern part of central Barcelona, which is also home to many other institutes of higher education. It is just 5 minutes from Plaza Catalunya, where students can easily connect to the main campus, Bellaterra, by way of the famous Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat.

This program allows students of all Spanish levels to learn Spanish while receiving university credit for electives in areas, such as Social Sciences, Humanities, Economics and more. Electives are taught in Spanish an English. It is the responsibility of those students choosing to elect courses conducted in Spanish to determine their language capabilities. Students must have a minimum level of B.1.2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference.

  • AmeriSpan Study Abroad's Mission Statement

Our mantra is "Every Language, Every Culture, Everywhere." AmeriSpan Study Abroad has over 15 years experience and over 30,000 past participants. Our staff has three passions: language, culture, and travel. Individually and as a group, we have accumulated experiences and knowledge related to these passions. AmeriSpan's staff has traveled to more than 65 countries, every continent except Antarctica, speak 10 languages, and we are happy to share this enormous amount of relevant knowledge with you. Every staff member has studied and/or lived abroad for extended periods of time. We are neither a language school nor a travel agent, we're a hybrid of the two: a language travel organization. AmeriSpan has evaluated hundreds of schools, host families and destinations to determine which programs to offer, and our independence allows us to give you unbiased evaluations of these programs. Our pledge to our participants is to make going abroad 'worry-free'. There is no risk in choosing an AmeriSpan program because you'll get the best program, best price and can cancel for any reason and get a full refund on every dollar we have received for your program.
