Study in South Africa's oldest town, next to Cape Town--Stellenbosch! Check out this stunning wine country and the breath-taking Jonkershoek Valley. Get to enjoy the city's impressive music, arts, theater, galleries, restaurants, hotels, parks, nature reserves, and playing fields that contribute to Stellenbosch's exciting vibe. Its superb climate is temperate year-round which makes it ideal for outdoor activities.
More than 400 international students study at the University from other African countries and the rest of the world. AIFS students take courses in English in Service Learning, African studies, art, English, literature, conservation ecology, history, political science, religious studies, theater arts and foreign languages. Most AIFS students do volunteer work in the township of Kayamandi with other international students from the University, and students can earn a Service Learning Certificate.
AIFS program fees include the basics and the extras: tuition, housing, some meals, excursions and cultural activities, airfare if selected, Garden Route tour, visit to the Cederberg Mountains, and more.

Take in more of the local culture on a vineyard and wine tasting tour and see the impressive sites of the South African coastline on a 6-day tour of the Garden Route and day trips to Cape Town, Robben Island and the Cape of Good Hope.
