Few countries could be more exciting to study in than Austria, a peaceful democracy with cultural and economic ties in both eastern and western Europe. With the Alps at your doorstep for outdoor fun and the works of Mozart, Haydn and Strauss in the background, spend a semester or academic year studying abroad with AIFS in Austria and explore the history, culture and natural beauty of this central European country.
AIFS in Salzburg offers something for everyone. Try a course German or visit a world-class ski area. Special courses in English and German are designed for AIFS students. Also included in the program fee are excursions to Vienna and Prague.
Students can take special courses in English and German designed for AIFS students, and German language experience is not required. Excursions to Munich, Vienna, and Prague are included. Students often opt to live with a host Austrian family to better immerse themselves in the culture. Other students opt to live in University residence halls. Participants receive free tuition to one university sports class of their choice and can also choose from a variety of outdoor sports including skiing, hiking, biking, or swimming in nearby mountain lakes.
