  • Highlights

    A Bachelor's degree is required to receive a Master of Fine Arts degree after the successful completion of the program. Those without a Bachelor's degree who successfully complete all the requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion. Applicants who have completed a program outside the US and do not have a posted Bachelor's degree are required to submit a Bachelor's degree equivalency document if the intention is to receive the Master of Fine Arts degree. The evaluation must be submitted before the end of the first term of attendance. It is the responsibility of the Fellow to obtain the credential evaluation. Final approval is at the discretion of the Registrar. For more information, please contact the Registrar's Office.

    Applicants
    Candidates must possess and demonstrate experience and/or educational background related to the discipline to which they are applying. The ability to work independently and to take initiative in a mature fashion are essential qualities for admission.

    Materials
    Applicants must submit:

    * Application Form (original and three copies)
    * Narrative Statement (original and three copies; double-spaced; five pages, maximum)
    * Resume (original and three copies)
    * Supporting Materials (will NOT be returned; send two copies, please)
    * Academic Transcripts (may be sent from prior institution(s); if sent by applicant, must remain sealed)
    * 2-4 Letters of Recommendation (may be sent from recommender(s); if sent by applicant, must remain sealed)
    * USD75 Non-Refundable Application Fee (Check or money order only, in US dollars) made payable to AFI.
    * TOEFL, if applicable
    * Self-Addressed stamped postcard for acknowledgement of receipt (optional)
    * Name of applicant, address, and discipline(s) of interest should be indicated on and within all materials, as well as printed on OUTSIDE of package
