Volunteers would help in training these fatherless and motherless children most of whom were picked on the streets. These children instead of them being at school, they have been neglected and are found on the streets begging. As a result, they have been camped in a centre where they receive their training and education. Some of these children lost their parents through the HIV/AIDs pandemic and also during child birth. Volunteers/internees are therefore invited to some of these centres as teachers who will teach English or any other subject, sanitation and also help them develop their creative talents like drawing of pictures, playing games and also help them in various related activities as requested by project staff.

It also recommends that there should be a proper and better education and other developmental issues to mankind in all spheres of life. It is for these reasons that Alive Foundation has been formed to champion the cause of volunteerism in Ghana and to promote the provision of services to humanity on voluntary basis.

The following are the aims and objectives for establishing the organization:
1. To promote developmental processes in deprived communities by offering voluntary services.
2. To inculcate the spirit of volunteerism into the youth.
3. To provide education on HIV/AIDS menace.
4. To promote cultural advancement through intercultural exchange programmes.
5. To promote women empowerment through skills acquisition.
6. To provide any other social and educational programmes

Cost in US$:

Program Fees Include:

i) Detailed Placement Information: You would be furnished with detailed placement information to enable you find-tune in your project before arrival.

ii) Airport Pick up/ Drop of: You will be met on arrival and also drop-off for departure at the airport.

Note: You are expected to communicate flight schedules to enable us meet you at the airport at the right time.

iii) In-Country Orientation An orientation course will be organized to introduce you to the programme. The orientation course will be held on topics such as host family conditions, climatic conditions, safety issues, religion, culture and other related topics.

iv) Food: The fee paid covers three meals in a day- breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food will be nutritious, healthy and locally available.

v) Accommodation: You will stay either in a single room or shared room in a clean, comfortable and decent room either in a hostel or with a host family.

vi) Mini-Insurance: An insurance cover would be provided to cover minor medical bills.

vii) 24 Hours Staff Support: While you enjoying the services that we provide, we remain devoted to maintain your safety. As such, we provide a comprehensive staff support any time a participant is enrolled in our programme.

Alive Foundation's Mission Statement

Alive Foundation is a voluntary non-governmental and non-profit making organization based in Kumasi, the Garden City of West Africa- Ghana. It was founded by a group of volunteers who set out to bring the resources of Ghana and the International community to the most deprived communities of Ghana. The organization is registered with the Registrar Generals Department, as a Non-Governmental Organization (N.G.O.) and it has been incorporated into the Ghana Companies Code 1963 (ACT 179) and issued with certificate number G. 12, 984. The organization is also registered with the Department of Social Welfare with Registration number D.S.W. / 2172. The mission of Alive Foundation is to bridge the wide gap in education, health and community development that exist between cities, towns and villages in Ghana through volunteer services. We believe that volunteers from within and outside a community can play a critical role in correcting this imbalance of resources that exist in our rural areas.
