The family were very friendly. I learnt a great deal of French language and culture. Nathalie and Frederic made a great effort to show me the area, I visited Vacqueyras, Uzes and the Pont du Gard. Thank you very much for all your help and for introducing me to the family.
A great program that combines culture, pleasure and education. Great opportunity for the volunteer to learn French and learn about the French culture.
My host was interesting, well informed and humorous. I learnt a lot about life in France and its relationship to the world. She was a superb cook and educated me on French cuisine. She was helpful to me when I was looking for information on travel and sightseeing in the region. I also learned some aspects of the French language not covered in the classes. She had a lovely, large house in the countryside and I had the 1st floor of the house to myself so this gave me my own space. I would say I had an authentic experience of la vie francaise.
I enjoyed being able to work with the family and watch as they progressed with their English, especially Nathans English. The family were kind to include and help me adjust to their routine. I improved my French and increased my knowledge of French culture. Lucky enough to be placed with a kind, enthusiastic family who were genuinely interested in learning not only English but also Australian culture. Contact with Soizick via email was easy to facilitate.
Malica and Aydin are the loveliest people you could hope to meet. They were welcoming, kind, unbelievably generous and trusting. They took me to see amazing things each weekend, brought home food they thought I would enjoy and did what they could to make my stay with them enjoyable. I was sad to leave their company and their home, but I know we will stay in contact.
The family were very welcoming and included me in day to day life but also made a special effort to take me on outings and provide me with a taste of France (wines and cheeses and special desserts). They definitely made me feel one of the family. The location was great for me I love the countryside but was also able to get into Paris easily. I got a lot of opportunity to practise French and enjoyed interacting with all family members.
Both the family and I benefited from learning about a different culture and the language learning was mutual. Debby kept in touch with all of us throughout my stay, providing us with ideas for games, recipes, etc. I had the opportunity to travel and go on numerous cultural visits with the family. The family itself was GREAT and the location was fantastic. This program was truly a great cultural immersion: as it turns out, I am very grateful that the family didnt know English, since this forced me to speak French 24/7 (except during lessons of course) and thanks to this, I feel as though my French has really improved. I fully got to experience the everyday life of the family, and they made sure to include me in all things possible. The family was very curious to learn about me and where I come from; we spent countless hours talking about our countries and sharing photos
Thank you once again for all your help and assistance in setting up my homestay in Montpellier. I couldn't have asked for a better location and more importantly I couldn't have wished for a nicer family. I have had the most wonderful time with the Robert family and I feel so lucky that they shared so much of their life and culture with me. I will miss them very much. I hope that I am able to visit them again in the future or maybe they could come to australia so that I can show them the same hospitality. It's a truly great experience and I will recommend your company to other.
I would just like to thank you for helping to arrange my exchange in France and to let you know I had a wonderful time with the family. The language and cultural exchange went very well i think both parties learnt a lot. The family was extremely welcoming and took me to many places & on many day trips.
Thank you for calling to see how things were going I had no problems at all. A culture shock for the first week but after that it was lots of fun and learning.
