A High School Academic & Fun Adventure in Israel
Description
Alexander Muss High School in Israel, known as HSI or AMHSI, is the only non-denominational, co-educational English language study abroad program in Israel for high school students. AMHSI was founded in 1972 and boasts over 20,000 alumni. AMHSI aims to provide teens the opportunity to spend part of the academic high school year or summer in Israel during their sophomore, junior or senior year. AMHSI is not an ordinary academic or travel program - the core curriculum is conducted in chronological historical order, with on-site learning at the actual places where history took place. AMHSI students enjoy independence and freedom within a structured and supportive system with professional staff, supportive teachers and dedicated counselors. We offer 6-week program in the summer, 8-week programs during the academic year and full semester programs in the fall and spring.
Our General Studies department is designed to help students complete assignments in subjects, mandatory or elective, not covered by our core history program. General studies courses are taught by highly qualified teachers to ensure that when students return to the U.S., they are immediately able to re-enter home school classes at a level commensurate with their classmates.
AMHSI students develop valuable new learning skills and perspectives which prepare them for college and for life. While in Israel, participants spend time strolling the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, eating Israeli delights such as Falafel and Shwarma, and having fun with new friends from all over the world! AMHSI enables participants to see the beauty and experience the excitement of Israel! AMHSI is internationally recognized and fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. AMHSI participants receive an official transcript for the 225-250 hours of studies. Eligible students can also receive 6 college credits from the University of Miami.
