Alcanta International College is an IB World School, offering a pre-DP class and the IB Diploma Programme. In the first academic year of studies at AIC, students will follow a common academic programme specifically designed by IB experts to prepare them for entrance to the IB Diploma Programme. Content will be mainly drawn from IGCSE syllabuses but may be adapted to meet the specific expectations of the IB Diploma Programme.
The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous pre-university course of study that leads to examinations; it is designed for highly motivated secondary school students aged 16 to 19. The programme incorporates the best elements of national systems without being based on any one. The goal of the International Baccalaureate Organization ("IBO") is to provide students with the values and opportunities that will enable them to develop sound judgement, make wise choices, and respect others in the global community.

We are particularly proud of the fact that our staff has an exceptional wealth of experience and leadership in the IB Diploma Programme as well as our specifically-designed, student-centered facilities for much room for creativity and growth. We plan to create an environment where international students studying together with local Chinese students to promote sharing of different languages and cultures in our community. This also enables overseas students to take full advantage of their stay in China.
