Support a Refuge for Women in Argentina

Argentina
Share |

Location
Argentina: Cordoba

Program Duration
2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks

Typical Duration of Program
5-8 weeks

  • Description

There is a great need in Argentina for disadvantaged women to have a comfortable place to gather for support and education. Volunteers have the opportunity to take part in unique projects at a women's refuge in Cordoba. The refuge offers local women access to group activities, a community kitchen, legal and psychological assistance, space to sell their handmade crafts, and information on domestic violence and spousal rights. Depending on their skills and preferences, volunteers may assist with workshops and activities, fundraising efforts, and may even help create and coordinate new projects for women at the refuge. Volunteers should be sensitive to underprivileged populations and women's rights and willing to reach out, build relationships and foster growth. The minimum time commitment for this project is 4 weeks. *Please note: This project only accepts female volunteers.

While volunteering in Argentina, you can experience the famous Argentine barbeque, or asado, a festive, communal event enjoyed by the locals, and explore a country known for its unique European flair in the heart of South America.
