Description

Our Language, Culture and Sports Program offers the unique opportunity to learn and practice Spanish while enjoying an exciting international experience in Spain. This program is best suited for students 14 to 18 years old. The Summer Program combines a morning language and culture classes with afternoon sport activities and a complete cultural program to nearby locations.

Students will choose one language course and one culture course. The carefully designed curriculum emphasizes conversation and communication, so students may take full advantage of their surroundings. Language and culture classes will be complemented workshops, debates and simulation games where different intercultural topics will be explored. Students will also work with movies, songs and creative arts to make provide an enjoyable and dynamic experience.

In addition to the academic programs students will take on a sport program of their choice. Participants can decide to practice one sport or to combine different activities including golf, basketball, tennis, football, volleyball, athletics or swimming.

The program takes place in two of our international schools, Agora Portals in Palma de Mallorca and Agora Masia Bach in Barcelona. While students will take their language courses in Spanish they will have the opportunity to interact with our Spanish students who are also participating in our International Summer Programs.

Our teaching method is based on a full immersion experience, an active, experiential learning in a non-traditional educational environment. Our courses are designed to be educational, challenging and fun emphasizing student motivation and interaction. Faculty integrates an ample diversity of teaching methods, audiovisual, technology and media materials. Cultural visits and excursions are a key component of the program in so that they can experience the subject of their study first hand, making the educational process more engaging.

Students also have the opportunity to socialize with their Spanish counterparts and practice a wide variety of extracurricular activities such as dancing, music and cooking or play sports including swimming, golf, tennis, soccer or basketball. If participating in the Palma Program Sailing and windsurfing is also available.

Students may choose between a home stay with a Spanish family or a full board in our International Campus Dorm.
