Description

This Architecture firm is a design and development firm specializing in 'inno-native' solutions in architecture and product and materials design. They are based in Accra, LA and Washington and are working on a wide range of products from, high end condos through mobile food carts to affordable housing. They are entering manufacturing with their pozzolana cement starting next year.

The firm requires a web & graphic designer to produce visual solutions to the architectural needs of clients, using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness of current architectural trends.

Highlights

The role will include some or all of the following:

* meeting clients or project manager to discuss the objectives and requirements of the project;
* interpreting the client's needs and developing a design to suit their purpose in consultation with other members of the project team;
* thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts;
* presenting finalized ideas and concepts to client or project manager;
* working with a wide range of media, including computer-aided design (CAD);
* keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design program such as Quark Xpress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D Studio, Acrobat, Director, Dream weaver and Flash, as most graphic design work is now completed on a computer.

Qualifications

The intern must demonstrate an interest in architecture. Interns should have excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work with a team. You should be a creative thinker, willing to offer input on new ideas and concepts.
