Projects start with a 5 day induction course covering safety, security, teaching techniques and language lessons, followed by 3 months living and working in a small township called Philippolis in rural South Africa. A wonderfully unique experience for cultural exchange - learning about the traditions, history & language of the local people. Spend approximately 20 lessons per week teaching core subjects (English, Maths, Science) to local children. Or alternatively you could spend your time coaching sports - soccer, hockey, netball, rugby. Opportunities to introduce extra-curricular subjects such as sports, art, drama, music etc.
After term ends you will have four weeks of independent travel - a great chance to explore more of Southern Africa covered by 24 hour back up from our local representative.
A unique opportunity to see an amazing community and to completely immerse into their way of life, away from the Western world. A truly life-changing experience.
Volunteers must be able to speak English, be enthusiastic, adaptable, committed and resilient (and have a sense of humor!).
