  • Description

Our gap year projects & volunteering opportunities in China start with a 4 day induction course and a 4 week intensive Mandarin Course at the Pro-Mandarin Academy. You will be accommodated with a local family giving you every opportunity to improve your Mandarin. The volunteering part of your project is based at the Hope Primary School in Jiang Jia Zheng in the Thousand Island Lake District, just a few hours from Shanghai.

You will teach for about 8 weeks in the school, helping with English and introducing after school activities for sports, music, art, drama and more. At weekends you may take part in school activities or explore the local area. Accommodation is in small groups in an apartment on the school campus.

You will then have an optional four weeks of independent travel time, with 24 hour in-country back up and support from our local representative.
