With this programme you can combine 1 or 2 months of exhilarating adventure in Venezuela with another 1-2 months of voluntary work of your own choice!
Adventure is your companion when you go exploring the giant country of the Caribbean on the tip of South America! From the beautiful, white sandy beaches and vast deltas over kilometer high snowy mountains and endless green plains to the jungle and tepui mountains. In Venezuela you can get everything! You will learn Spanish in our beautiful base camp in Playa Colorada set in one of the world's most beautiful national parks - Mochima. You spend your nights in hammocks during the whole trip and go on daily trips to surrounding paradise islands from camp.
The big expeditions offers you trekking, canyoning and salsa in the Andes; Warao Indians, jungle and fabulous wildlife in the Orinoco Delta, anacondas, crocodiles and cowboys in Los Llanos, African drum parties, wonderful beaches and cocoa plantations in Choroni; and trekking, mountaineering, jungle and waterfalls in La Gran Sabana. Some of the highlights of the trip are holding a live anaconda in your arms, rapelling down a waterfall, sailing in a canoe with the Indians - and certainly reaching the top of Roraima!
You have a unique opportunity to choose your own volunteering project. There is not a fixed list with a certain number of projects to choose from. Instead, you have the opportunity to request exactly what you would like to work with. Some of the popular projects have been working at an orphanage on a farm near Puerto La Cruz, a veterinarian in Puerto La Cruz and a cafe in Santa Cruz.
