AGS offers a Master of Arts Degree in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy with six areas of emphasis, three Specialty Area Programs, a Post-Master's Degree Diploma in Adlerian Psychotherapy and a Post-Master's Licensure Program.
Coursework at the Adler Graduate School supports pursuit of licensure as an LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) and Professional School Counselor in the State of Minnesota. Students seeking licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, Professional Clinical Counseling and Professional School Counseling are encouraged to consult program advisors regarding specific course requirements. Students seeking licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy are encouraged to contact the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. Students seeking licensure in Professional Counseling and/or Professional Clinical Counseling are encouraged to contact the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
The M.A. Degree in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy offers Seven Master's Level Areas of Emphasis:
* Art Therapy
* Career Development: Emphasis in Career Development. Provides eligibility for licensure as Licensed Professional Counselor and certification as Professional Life Coach (optional)
* Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Emphasis in Clinical Counseling. Provides eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
* Marriage and Family Therapy: Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Provides eligibility licensure as a * * Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
* Non-Clinical Adlerian Studies
* Online Adlerian Studies
* School Counseling: Emphasis in School Counseling. Provides licensure as a School Counselor
In addition to the M.A. Program, there are also two specialty areas of study offered at AGS. These are often taken as part of the M.A. program, but can be taken separately (except the Art Therapy Specialization Program). These Specialty Area Programs are:

For those who already possess a Master's level degree and wish to pursue further coursework in Adlerian psychotherapy or to prepare for licensure, AGS offers two Post-Master's Programs:
* Diploma in Adlerian Psychotherapy
* Post-Master's Licensure
AGS courses are specifically designed to accommodate the busy schedules of working adults. Classes are generally held in the evenings and on weekends, and most students keep their current jobs. AGS is a fully accredited higher education institution (more about our accreditation).
The Adler Graduate School is committed to:
* Facilitate Master's level learners' knowledge of Adlerian Psychology, its philosophy, principles, theories and techniques; to develop learners' skills in applying this knowledge to individuals, couples, families, organizations and communities; and to encourage learners' attitudinal development in a manner consistent with AGS's values, mission and purposes.
* Increase Master's level learner's understanding of philosophies, principles, theories and techniques as they relate to specific professional interests such as counseling, couple & family therapy, psychology, human and organization development, addictions counseling, child and adolescent counseling, and family education; to increase learners' abilities to conceptualize, analyze and integrate diverse viewpoints.
* Increase our educational effectiveness by continually assessing learners' educational needs, academic achievements and career options through a variety of assessment and research methodologies; by assessing faculty members' developmental needs and by providing on-going feedback; and by developing new and/or modifying existing programs, courses and services to meet learner, faculty and community needs.
* Provide an organizational structure based on Adlerian principles that encourages broad participation in planning and decision-making; such structure should insure that human, financial and physical resources support identified and agreed upon purposes.
* Provide opportunities for our students, alumni, faculty, administrators, staff and directors to develop professionally and personally; to conduct research and other scholarly activities; to participate in organizations that support their professional interests; and to serve the community.
* Develop and expand community service learning by seeking collaborative partnerships with groups and organizations that focus on under-served populations, such as diverse cultures, the homeless, inmates, the aging and the under- or unemployed; to provide a framework for mutual learning, such as discussion groups, workshops, classes and internships; to encourage learners to apply the philosophy and principles of Adlerian * Psychology to meet individual and community needs.
