Description

Internships will involve programming and designing software, equipment maintenance, digitalizing files and planning new computer projects. Interns will be placed in state or public companies, as well as in non-profit organizations.

Programs start the first Monday of each month, all year long (Remember: in Chile, summer time is December - March!). Work assignments are 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. Housing is your own room in a shared apartment with other Adelante candidates all apartments are in easy distance of the beach -- or with a Chilean family, you choose. 3 weeks of intensive Spanish language classes, plus excursions are included when you first arrive. This is a fairly customized program and process, with anywhere from 3 to 10 candidates starting programs each month. Participation in this program will massively upgrade your Resume and provide the ability to become fluent in Spanish. All candidates have a Chilean Supervisor at their work assignments, plus an English-speaking Intern Advisor living in Vina del Mar.

This program is meant to be 50% work experience and 50% cultural / language acquisition and immersion.

Qualifications

Program candidates should be 18 or older and possess a desire to learn about and live in another culture. Some Spanish is helpful although we can and do place beginner - beginners. IT experience is required. Candidates should be at college level or graduate level, though we have some "gap-year" candidates. Qualities required are: dependability for your work assignment, courage for your international living abroad experience and openness to all the new people and experiences you will encounter.
