Teach English in Barcelona while living and experiencing life in Spain. Candidates teach English to classes of adults and can be involved in creating lessons, designing materials and developing classroom activities.There may also be some opportunities for teaching English to children.

Adelante provides a low cost internship program in Barcelona, Spain, with a focus on cultural immersion and real-life experience in an international setting. This program is for independent-minded people looking for a real living abroad experience. Airport pickup, orientation, housing, Spanish classes and internship placement all included in the program fee.

Intern in Barcelona is an independent program whereby candidates gain real international work experience while immersing themselves in another culture. The program begins with a two week intensive Spanish course with local Spanish teachers. Candidates will then participate in a 4 hour a day internship in a small to mid-sized, Spanish-run company or organisation. Part of the application process is a phone interview to ensure that candidates are placed in the sector that works best for them - we can usually guarantee placement. The Adelante program is not competitive and we place year round, starting the first Monday of each month.

Participation in this program will massively upgrade your resume and provide the opportunity to become fluent in Spanish. All candidates have a local Supervisor at their work assignments, plus an English-speaking Adelante Advisor living in Barcelona. This is a fairly customized program and process, with anywhere from 3 to 10 candidates starting programs each month. Housing is your own room in a shared apartment.

This program is for independent-minded people looking for a real living abroad experience. There are numerous Internships and Sectors to choose from and we are always adding more. You will gain real, international work experience to add to your resume, and you can become bi-lingual if you apply yourself. Instead of just visiting, as a tourist, you will be living and working in Spain -- there is really no other way to truly learn the language and the culture...

* We organize events most weekdays and weekends which you are welcome to participate in -- some have a small fee, others are free. This program is meant to be 50% work experience and 50% cultural / language acquisition and immersion. To that effect, we help cultivate the cultural side of the program for you by organizing these events.

Qualifications

Program candidates should be 18 or older and possess a desire to learn about and live in another culture. Native or fluent English language skills are required. Some Spanish is helpful although we can and do place beginner beginners. Candidates should be at college level or graduate level, though we do have some gap-year candidates.

Qualities required are: dependability for your work assignment, courage for your international living abroad experience and openness to all the new people and experiences you will encounter.
