  • Description

    Action Volunteer Alliance has an Orphanage program, English Teaching program, Building program and Cultural Exchange program.

    * Orphanage:
    You will have the opportunity to live in or work at an orphanage helping young Nepali children with their every day tasks, playing with them, teaching them and helping them with homework.

    * English Teaching:
    You will teach children of all different ages and levels to speak, read and write in English. You will also have the opportunity to help the local teachers with their English and lesson planning.

    * Building:
    This program can wildly vary. You may be building a toilet for a community or helping to repair a school or building a playground for underprivileged children.

    * Culture Exchange:
    You will live in a house with a local family and have the opportunity to see their beautiful culture first hand and share your culture with them.

    You will live with a host family during all of the programs. There is also cultural and language training upon arrival. You can mix these programs at no extra cost if you are interested in more than one.

  • Highlights

    During your stay in Nepal you will have the opportunity to see some of the worlds most beautiful landscape. You can climb to base camp on Mt. Everest, experience some of the worlds best white water rafting, ride an elephant through the jungle and watch rhinos, monkeys and even tigers in their natural habitat and you can take part in one of Nepal's many colourful festivals. Nepal is a very diverse country with something for everyone to enjoy.

  • Typical Volunteer

    Most of our volunteers are young adults who are looking to get away for a few months to see a foreign country and gain some life experience or are in a gap year. Most are open-minded and looking for an adventure while they help people less fortunate than themselves. Most volunteers are able to get some perspective on the world during their experience.
