Description
Students who choose to study abroad in Beijing with API will take courses at Beijing Normal University (BNU).
Students in this program have several study options. They may elect to follow an intensive Chinese language track, or they may decide to take a combination of Chinese language and choose from a huge variety of courses in English in Chinese culture and society, education, economics, environmental studies, international business, public policy, political science, and more.
Most of the English-taught courses are worth 3 semester credits, though some are worth 2 semester credits. It is important that the student check with their study abroad or academic advisor on how courses will transfer to their home university.
Fall Semester Options
Students should be aware that fall courses run through January; as such, there are two options they can pursue. Students may arrange to take their examinations in December for a regular fall return, OR they may continue through January, and earn additional credit for the extra time.
Transcripts
API students receive their transcript from Beijing Normal University upon completion of their program.
