This lively city on the beautiful south coast of Ireland is the country's second largest city. Cork is known for its great contributions to architecture, design, music, dance, theater, film, food, literature and sports. Soak in the culture by visiting the Opera House, theaters, museums or by attending one of the many festivals held throughout the year. Cork is located only a few miles from the famous Blarney Castle and Blarney Stone. St. Finbarr's Cathedral with its three spires and elaborate High Victorian interior is one of Cork's most famous landmarks. Students and locals alike enjoy walking along St. Patrick Street and finding restaurants and pubs along the way. API offers comprehensive study abroad programs in Cork, Ireland. Students will study with Irish and other international students at University College Cork - National University of Ireland.
API students in Cork can choose from almost the entire course offerings at UCC, including liberal arts and humanities, business, food science, engineering, music, and more. There are also 'specialty' programs available during the semester/year, such as the early start, certificate, diploma, and internship programs. The summer school in Irish studies focuses on Irish literature and history.
Named the European Capital of Culture for 2005 for its contribution to architecture, design, music, dance, theater, film, food and more, Cork is the Irish Republic's second largest city with a population of over 200,000. Cork also has numerous cultural festivals throughout the year.
