Description

The program takes place all year round in Valencia and provides an opportunity for foreign students to improve the Spanish languages and to complete professional internships in Spain. The program is comprised of two parts, a first part dedicated exclusively for improvement of Spanish (Spanish course) and a second part - practices in different companies (part time job). The student does not receive salary for the practice.

The school, Taronja, is unique, fresh and dynamic. It is a special place where you can learn our language perfectly and where you will feel like a real Spaniard. Our school is located right in the city centre, in a 19th century building, surrounded by a beautiful pedestrian area. Many of the important historic buildings in the city centre have recently been restored while new museums and cultural centres have been built, giving the city a new feel. Valencia conserves many of its ancient buildings.

Once inside the school you will discover that every single corner of it has been carefully decorated by different Valencian artists: you will find the Kitsch Paradise room, the Freaky Doctor's room, and the Hippie room. All our classrooms are equipped with the latest audiovisual technology. All our teachers are young and dynamic, with a university degree in Spanish Philology and experience in teaching.

We demand the highest professionalism from our teachers and staff. We guarantee a fast and effective learning of the Spanish language. We employ only native speakers with a university degree in Spanish philology. We also have air-conditioning in every room and free access to Internet all day in our Chill Out area where you can listen to music, have a coffee, and relax. A student's book is included in the price.

On the other side, we organize lots of social activities every week such as:

- A welcome dinner party every Monday, were we normally cook the typical paella.
- A free culture class every Thursday with exciting subjects, like Flamenco.
- Cultural Wednesday: we go to the cinema,museum, theatre, etc.
- A free Spanish cooking class every Tuesday with the great ¡Chef Nando!
- Suppers, trips, art and much more!

General conditions

* Duration of the classes is 50 minutes.
* Maximum number of students per class is 10.
* Student's book is included in the price.
* Students with some knowledge of Spanish can start the course any Monday.
* Spanish beginners should check starting dates for beginners
* These courses include a free Welcome party every Monday
* These courses include a free Spanish cooking lesson every Tuesday
* These courses include a free Spanish culture lesson every Thursday
* Attendance Spanish Certificate, once the Spanish courses has finished
* Taronja School does not neglect any of the four skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) however trying to encourage, above all, the speaking Spanish skill.

Students' needs, goals and interests together with their own learning strategies will become the basis for our Spanish teachers to prepare the Spanish lessons. Thanks to the reduced number of students per class teachers can attend the students needs personally.

Class materials (text books, press articles, videos, songs) are always adapted to the Spanish class level.

Regarding the different levels of Spanish learning in Taronja Spanish School we follow the Cervantes Institute guidelines (4 traditional levels) in combination with the six different levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (European Council)
1. Spanish Initial (Elementary A1+Basic A2)
2. Spanish Intermediate (B1)
3. Spanish Advanced (B2)
4. Spanish Superior (C1+C2)

Highlights

Paella, the world famous rice dish, is original from Valencia. In fact, "Paella" is a Valencian word that means "Frying pan" and stands for "Rice cooked on a pan". If you think there are only two kinds of paella (seafood and chicken paella) then you are totally wrong! In Valencia we eat rice at least three times per week and we have an infinite number of different rice dishes: Vegetable Paella, Duck Paella, Lobster Paella, Crab Paella, Turnip and Beans rice, Black rice, Oven rice...! At Taronja, you will learn how to cook a traditional Paella with the Great Chef Nando!
