We really enjoy being with people.
We travelled extensively for 40 years in connection with Kai’s job as a wool exporter. When retirement came, we really missed meeting people, thus the idea of opening the Nest was born, now nearly 9 years ago and 1700 plus guests later.

* The Nest has TV, stereo, DVD and BBQ plus full kitchen and laundry facilities.
* There is a small library of NZ books for your reading enjoyment
* The neighbourhood is tranquil and safe
* A baby cot and high chair is available for you.
* Extensive use of natural timber adds to the ambience of the Nest,
* All this only 15 minutes drive from the centre of Christchurch and only two minutes walk to a bus stop
* Pick up from Airport or the City by arrangement

Location
Directions to the Nest:
Ask one of the friendly locals for directions to Ferry Road, then please follow Ferry Road east towards Sumner (not Lyttelton). You will soon get to the suburbs of Woolston. Once through Woolston you will get to a roundabout quickly, please go straight through this (not towards Lyttelton). Soon you will get to a set of traffic lights. Please drive straight ahead using the left lane. You will very quickly come to a 4-lane bridge and have the Estuary on your left. Follow the road as it veers left along the water.
Quite quickly you will come to McCormacks Bay Road on your right, please turn into this road. Turn right into Soleares Avenue, and continue up the hill until you get to Toledo Place on your right. Please come to number 15 (proceed past the letterboxes and park opposite No 15) and we will take you over to the Nest at number 24, and make you feel really welcome.
