We offer short and longer term placements in/around Arusha, central rural communities and in the city of Dar Es Salaam. Projects are based in local towns, and rural villages. Our projects focus on the children of Tanzania, volunteers work in the local orphanages and primary schools. As a volunteer, you will primarily assist with the daily care of the kids; including preparing meals and teaching Basic English. You can play games, arrange activities, create arts & crafts projects and share your time and caring with these wonderful children. Children's ages range from 2yrs - 15 yrs. Volunteers are expected to work 40 hours per week and are provided accommodations and meals, roundtrip airport transfers, project placement and supervision and in-country orientation on arrival.
Our programs are available year round. We have a flexible schedule, with no set start dates. Come volunteer with us and see A Broader View of the World.
Gaining independence in 1961, Tanzania is a stable, peaceful country with few tribal or regional divisions. Tanzania draws many first-time Africa travelers because of its well developed tourist infrastructure. It is a land where you're most likely to spot large numbers of big game, plus world-class views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The country is recognized both in terms of wildlife and beauty. With national parks extending over some 33,660 sq km (13,000 sq miles), Tanzania has more land devoted to national parks and game reserves than any other wildlife destination in the world.
Some of Tanzania's ecologically significant wildlife parks include the famous Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park in the north, and Selous Game Reserve and Mikumi National Park in the south. Gombe National Park in the west is known as the site of Dr. Jane Goodall's studies of chimpanzee behavior.
Our programs allow you to take part in meaningful community service work, while discovering the people, sights, smells and tastes of Tanzania.
Volunteering in Tanzania is a way to totally immerse yourself in Eastern African culture and gain a broader view of the world.
This is a great opportunity to make life-long friends, learn a new culture from the inside out and discover that one person really can make a difference. Volunteer with us and see A Broader View of the World.
