World Endeavors' Thai Studies Semester in Bangkok is perfect for students looking for the complete Thai experience. The program introduces students to Thai language, literature, history, economics, politics and other aspects of Thai culture. The courses are designed for small groups of students with an emphasis on current issues, an active exchange of ideas, and field trips. You will study alongside Thai and other international students and your personal 'Thai buddy' will help you adjust to your new environment by introducing you to the Thai way of life. Eligibility:

  • Applicants must have completed secondary school, be currently enrolled in a university program, or already hold a university degree (or equivalent)
  • GPA of 2.75

Pre-Departure Information: Before students embark on their trip abroad, they will be provided a pre-departure guide that includes important details about their semester abroad. In addition, students may contact World Endeavors any time prior to departure with questions.

Back_topOrientation:

Students will receive an orientation after arriving in Thailand that will acquaint them with the program and the surrounding area. At that time, students can register for the buddy program that teams each international student with a local Thai student. Students will make friends with Thai students, get to know Thai families and experience contemporary Thai lifestyle, exchange culture and thoughts with locals, learn the Thai language, travel and have fun.

Fully furnished single bed apartment includes: refrigerator, satellite TV, telephone, hot and cold water, weekly cleaning, car parking, swimming pool, mini-mart and restaurant.

The language of instruction for all courses is English. Experience with the Thai language is not required.

Credit and Transcripts
Each student will take four courses for 3 credits each. Academic credit and transcripts will be issued by Thammasat University after the successful completion of course requirements for the semester program. It is the student's responsibility to contact their academic advisor prior to the semester to ensure that courses taken while abroad are transferable to their home institution.

Students are never lacking in diversions to enliven their social schedule, pique their intellectual interest and/or complement their studies. The campus houses various cultural and entertainment centers, and numerous social and cultural activities are held throughout the year, including dances, concerts, plays and movies. The student body has also formed many clubs centered around a variety of interests, whether artistic, cultural, political, religious, athletic or otherwise.

Activities: As a part of the program, students will participate in other exciting and educational field excursions. In addition, students can participate in a variety of student organizations and sports clubs on campus.
