It's time for the GoAbroad Travel Promos! Every month on the GoAbroad Blog, we share resources and information about all the great travel promotions, giveaways and contests occurring in the travel and international education fields. This month's selections are:
1. National Geographic Student Photo Contest
National Geographic recently announced the kickoff of the first National Geographic Student Photo Contest to win a trip on a National Geographic Student Expedition this summer. This contest invites high school students to submit a photo and a short statement describing the photo and how it captures the essence of what exploration means to them. The grand prize is a Summer 2012 London Photography Workshop, including round-trip airfare and program tuition, valued at approximately $6,500 USD. Also, second and third place prizes are being awarded respectively with $250 and $100 gift certificates to the National Geographic Store!

2. Scholarship Opportunities from Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS)
The Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS) is excited to announce that they are offering scholarships for two of their programs. The first is a scholarship for Marine Biology Summer Courses in Bermuda and the second is for the Coral Reef Ecology Summer Course in Bermuda. The Marine Biology course presents an integrated perspective, using a combination of lectures, laboratory experiments, bioinformatics laboratory exercises, and field trips to the open ocean and coral reefs–including an open-ocean research cruise aboard the 168 ft. BIOS research vessel Atlantic Explorer.
On the other hand, the Coral Reef Ecology course at BIOS exposes the student to the reef ecosystem at all organizational levels, from physiological ecology through population biology, community structure to ecosystem dynamics, ending with consideration of human impacts and climate change. Scholarships for these programs are available to all candidates!

3. Student Travel Writing Contest from TransitionsAbroad.com
This contest from TransitionsAbroad.com is unique in that it covers a gamut of topics including: educational student travel,volunteering, internships, short-term work, and traditional study abroad via U.S.-based programs as well as direct enrollment in foreign institutions. For this year's contest, the winning student submission will be awarded $500, the second place winner will be awarded $150, the third place winner will be awarded $100, and runner-up winners $50. In addition, all winners will be featured in the May Webzine dedicated to study abroad and educational travel.

4. Conde Nast Traveler - Dream Trip Photo Contest
Sometimes, it IS possible to win the trip of your dreams. Conde Nast Traveler has launched a new photo contest in which you could win your dream vacation worth up to $25,000, or one of 25 other prizes. All contestants have to do is submit a picture and description of their most incredible travel moment into Conde Nast Traveler's Dream Trip Contest and Sweepstakes. In addition, randomly-drawn sweepstakes winners will receive a $10,000 trip to the British Virgin Islands or weekly prizes! The final winner will be chosen on the basis of how Compelling (25%), Evocative (25%), Meaningful (25%), and Thoughtful (25%) the photo is.
